Coast to Coast Walk - Western Section

Coast to Coast Walk - Western Section

The Coast to Coast Walk - Western Section is a 84-mile unofficial and mostly unsignposted long-distance footpath in Northern England between Saint Bees and Kirkby Stephen.

It is becoming Increasingly popular to walk the route in 2 sections. We support the stages from Saint Bees through to Kirkby Stephen. (The Western Section) This passes through the heart of the Lake District National Park, before entering the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Coast to Coast Western Section can usually be walked in approximately 5-7 days and either completed as a standalone walk, or as a part of the full walk over a longer period of time.

The example itinerary below is one of a number of permutations, challenging and stretching on a number of days.

A great book to research the finer details is : The Coast to Coast Walk. – St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay – By Terry Marsh
