Ullswater Way route gets much needed improvements

29th July 2021

Work has been completed on the ever popular Ullswater Way to improve a 1km section at Priest’s Crag at Watermillock, helping visitors explore more of this special valley.

This particular section of the route is well used as it’s close to a number of campsites and it had become eroded and tended to get very muddy in bad weather. The work, which included resurfacing and drainage works started in May and has recently been completed just in time for summer.

The Ullswater Way is a 21-mile walking route around Ullswater. The route can be walked in either direction and from any starting point. You can make it a 2-day relaxed walk, stopping overnight at Glenridding or Patterdale at the South end of the lake or at Pooley Bridge in the North
